Privacy Policy — Piss Ballz
The short version
Piss Ballz collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no server of ours, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you put into the app — your goals, check-ins, mood ratings, journal entries, streaks, Drips, Pressure, Rollouts and purchases — stays on your own device, and is mirrored to your own private iCloud database if you have iCloud enabled. We cannot see any of it, because none of it is ever sent to us.
There is exactly one exception, and it is off until you switch it on. If you turn on Friends, three things — the name you gave your Ballz, your current streak, and its growth stage — are published to a shared area of iCloud so that people who have your friend code can see them. Nothing else is ever published: not your goals, not your check-ins, not your mood, not a word of your journal. Turning Friends off deletes the published record.
Who we are
Piss Ballz is published by Jamal Campbell (“we”, “us”). Questions about this policy or about your data: jamalcampbell@outlook.com.
What the app stores, and where
Everything below is created by you, used only to make the app work, and kept in two places: a local database on your device, and — only if iCloud is on — your own private iCloud container.
| What | Examples |
|---|---|
| Goals and their history | Goal titles you chose or wrote, schedules, reminder times, completion log |
| Check-ins | Morning and evening check-ins, the mood rating you tap, any note you type |
| Journal and exercises | Reflection entries, the prompt they answered, breathing and wind-down sessions |
| Streaks and capacity | Current streak, freezes used, whether “Rough week” mode is on |
| Economy and progression | Drips, Pressure, XP, growth stage, Rollouts sent and their outcomes |
| Customisation | The name you gave your Ballz, equipped accessories, owned items, pinned scene |
| Purchases | Which cosmetic packs you own — held by Apple, not by us, and read back from the App Store |
| Friends (only if on) | Your friend code, your friends’ codes, and the last name/streak/stage seen for each |
| Preferences | Whether onboarding has been completed, display settings |
It is not transmitted to us. The app has no backend and makes no network requests of its own. Everything it needs — sprites, scenes, goal presets, Rollout stories — ships inside the app. We have no ability to read, export or recover any of it.
Friends (off by default)
Friends is the only part of the app that shares anything with another person, and it does nothing at all until you turn it on.
- What is published: your Ballz’s name, your current streak, and its growth stage. That is the complete list.
- What is never published: your goals, check-ins, mood ratings, journal entries, Rollouts, Drips, purchases, reminders, or anything else.
- Who can see it: anyone who has your six-character friend code. You choose who to give it to. There is no directory and no search.
- No sign-up. iCloud supplies an identifier for this app alone, which is what lets you claim a code without registering anything.
- Turning it off deletes the published record. Your friend list stays on your device.
- Moderation. Every friend has a Report and a Block option. Reporting sends the code and reason to us for review and blocks them at the same time. Blocking removes them from your list and stops them seeing your streak. Names are filtered for slurs and sexual content before publishing.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for Piss Ballz, your app data is mirrored into your own private CloudKit database, so it is available on your other devices and survives reinstalling the app.
- That container belongs to your Apple Account, not to us. We are not given access to private CloudKit data and cannot query it.
- Sync is handled entirely by Apple’s frameworks and is covered by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- To turn it off: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud, and switch off Piss Ballz. The app keeps working; it just stops syncing.
What the app does not do
- No account. You never give us an email address, a name or a password.
- No analytics or crash SDK. No third-party telemetry of any kind is linked into the app.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers, no tracking. Nothing is shared with data brokers, nothing is used for targeted advertising, and the app does not track you across apps or websites. Our App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
- No paid currency. Drips and Pressure are earned, never bought. The only things real money buys are cosmetic packs — hats, shades and places — and every one of those is also still buyable with Drips at the price it always had.
- We never see your payment details. Purchases go through Apple’s App Store. The app asks Apple what you own and gets back a yes or a no; it never receives, stores or transmits a card number, a billing address or an Apple Account ID.
- No location, contacts, microphone, camera, health data or photo library. The app never requests access to any of these.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, under the CCPA/CPRA meaning of those words or any other.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules them locally on your device — a reminder at a time you chose for a goal, and a notification when your Ballz comes home from a Rollout. There are no push notifications from a server, because there is no server. You can revoke permission at any time in Settings → Piss Ballz → Notifications.
Links that leave the app
The Getting help screen lists crisis lines. Tapping one hands off to another app — Phone, Messages, or your browser for findahelpline.com. Once you have left Piss Ballz, that organisation’s own privacy policy applies, not this one. We receive no notification that you tapped anything, and the list is fixed in the app — it is not chosen based on your mood ratings or anything else you have entered.
Deleting your data
- On your device: delete the app. Its local database and preferences go with it.
- In iCloud: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage, then remove the Piss Ballz data.
- From us: there is nothing to request. We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete, export, correct or disclose. If you have rights requests under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA, this is the honest answer to all of them — but you are welcome to write to jamalcampbell@outlook.com and we will confirm it in writing.
Legal basis, for users in the UK and EU: the data you enter is processed on your own device to provide a feature you asked for. We are not a controller of personal data you keep locally, and we receive none of it.
Children
Piss Ballz is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — including children — because we do not collect personal information at all. The App Store rating is 12+, largely on account of the name and its language.
This is not medical software
Piss Ballz is a habit tracker with a character attached. It is not therapy, not a medical device and not a diagnostic tool. It does not assess your mental health and it cannot detect whether you are getting worse. The mood rating you tap adjusts in-app pacing — nothing more. If you are in crisis, use the Getting help screen or your local emergency number.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the updated version will be posted at https://meezy416.github.io/pissballz-app/privacy-policy.html with a new effective date, and — if the change is material — noted in the app’s release notes. Because the app sends us nothing, any future change that introduced data collection would require a new app version, a new privacy label, and your consent to any permission it needed.
